「君が間違っているかも知れない」
〔推量〕の〔助動詞〕は、不確実な（可能性の低い）方から、could,
might, may, can, should, ought to, would, will, must という。

また、上掲辞書に、may は「約５割の確率で起こると考えていることを表す」
とある。さらに、“Practical English Usage 3rd Edition”by Michael Swan
をみてみると、may は 50% で、might は 30% と読み取れる記述がある。

I may go to London tomorrow.(perhaps a 50% chance)

先ほどの引用英文の内容を示すと、
私が明日ロンドンに行く可能性：行かない可能性＝約５０％：約５０％
ジョーが私と来る可能性：来ない可能性＝約３０％：約７０％
may よりも不確実なことに might を使っている。しかし、上掲辞書『ジー
ニアス』を、さらに読んでみると、「最近では may と might の強さの差は
なく用いることも多い。また、may は許可などに用い、《主に米》では、可能
性・推量にはもっぱら might を用いる傾向がある」という記述があった。
イギリスでもアメリカ英語の影響を受けて、変化が起こっているという。

〔推量〕〔可能性〕の意味で、mayn't は使われない（may not を使う）が、
mightn't［ｍａｉｔｎｔ］は使えると受け取れる記述がある。
