Abstract: The major findings in this study were as follows: (1) momentarily forming a spawning pair just before scramble competition, (2) no correlation between male size and monopolization potential of egg sacs during scramble competition, and (3) a negative correlation between the monopolist male's SVL and head width and the length of time the mating balls with scrambler males last (mating ball duration).
