Throat White Patch
A typical aquatic-phase male (ventral view) of the salamander Hynobius hidamontanus, inhabiting Hokujo, Hakuba-mura, Nagano Prefecture, Japan (photographed on 3 May 2006). A white pigmented patch was strongly detected in the throat region of this male. Note the swelling of his cloacal region.
