The Last Room
This is the 7th floor conference room where I
spent much of my final
month at a company in central Tokyo.... That computer I dragged
with me all over the company - from the 6th floor to the 3rd, to the
2nd, and finally to the 7th. I strongly insisted on a desktop
computer when I was first hired (for the keyboard), but that final
month, I found myself wishing I had a laptop.
It
was interesting to work in that room, but it was during the month of
March, the weather was cold and there was something wrong with the
heating system, so the room kept going cold - necessitating resetting
the heating control and starting a new cold to warm to cold
cycle. Not surprisingly I came down with a cold.
