Regarding the old train car factory and the overgrown tracks (bottom four pictures above) leading into a tunnel, I had thought they were for the Shinkansen cars, mainly due to the obviously wider gauge of the rails than most of the trains in Japan, but after seeing the train yard photographed in the top photos above, which is for the (yes...) wide-gauge Toei subway train cars, I have to put that together with the evidence on a map I have that the tunnel in the last picture leads to the large train yard in the top pictures and state that I was wrong about that being a former factory for the Shinkansen rail cars.  -  Copyright 2006 by Lyle (Hiroshi) Saxon, Images Through Glass, Tokyo
