- Learning the IPA for English by © Johanna E. Rubba 2003. (California Polytechnic State University)
- Wikipedia "Japanese pronunciation". {O} is a diphthong? What mean? [O],[O:],[OW] all is allowed. ex. ICHIRO (he is 1st son.) -- we pronounce [ichi low] or [ichi lo:] ( not [ichi lo] ) usually. I couldn't listen to the .ogg audio file. I open my mouth {O} larger than {A}. -- what happen?
- 3rd element is a lip (movement), cf. [u] :pretend you are going to kiss someone. by © Sharon Widmayer and Holly Gray ( soundsofenglish.org ).
in reduced vowel sounds theme, barred i pronouncing is explained. barred i = ɨ , CMU dictionary doesn't distinguish Barred i from Schwa or [IH0]. ex. reci tation = [res5ta_sh5n. ] ,   cf. Unicode Entity Codes for Phonetic Symbols © Penn State University, 2000-2007. And more article cf. Unstressed and reduced vowels in English (wikipedia),

Here,
  • in pair symbols ( left • right), the right side of "•" represents a rounded vowel.
  • [..] is the pronunciation symbol of "the CMU pronouncing dictionary".
  • {..} is Japanese vowel pronouncing {A,I,U,E,O}.
( I can pronounce {A,I,U,E,O} with no change mouth opening .!?   And {A,O} can do with any opening height [= each Japanese vowel has a wide range]. )
  • This CMU symbols and Japanese vowels mapping to the IPA symbols don't guarantee their truth.
