Appreciation of Nature

The shape of the flower looks very much like Chinese letter "Dai (means Big)." There are some more of the kind: pink ones, white ones, pale green ones. Some are of double-petaled type.

One of the typical autumn wild flowers. The root is dried and can be taken as stomach medicine. They are about 20 to 80cm high. You will also see shorter kinds, red berries of which can be easily noticed in late autumn. The one which comes with many big bellflowers around the joints have been grown and sold at flower shops.

Those white flowers' attractive fragrance must have caught you in summer. Now they have nuts like these. When you boil chestnuts you put some of these to add bright yellow color. The chestnuts get ready for making part of "Japanese sweets.
