Shinnju-san

You will find it so elegant and gorgeous with quite a modern design and color on green leaves. It will give you an image of a pearl, I am sure. "Shinnju" means "Pearl" in Japanese. It is one of the big moths in Japan(open-wing width 110mm-140mm). The way it flies is so elegant, too.

Remains of summer: Onaga-ageha

In my garden a black butterfly was seen on an summer flower. It was cloudy, a typhoon was just about to come and it did not seem to have enough energy when I took some pictures getting very close to it. Butterflies take energy from the sunlight. I hope it could find a good place for refuge.

Hagi, September flower

On September 16, we enjoy moon viewing with some offerings, sake, and autumn plants like Japanese pampas grass and Hagi every year. This year typhoon prevented us from having the event. What a shame!
