Darhadyn Wetland (Favorite Shot)

Darhadyn Wetland 2005
A study area of the salamander Salamandrella keyserlingii within a wetland complex (having 10 or more crescent lakes and pools, sedge meadows, and forest [Larix sp.] zones) in a floodplain along the Shishkhid River (40-60 m wide, 1560 m elevation), winding through Darhadyn Wetland, Mongolia (photographed at 1857 h on 11 August 2005). A whitish mountain range seen in the middle portion was called "Khordil Saridag Mountains" with phosphates on the surface of the mountains (3240 m elevation).

This was one of my favorite shots. Additionally, at the time of photographing, I was an only Japanese at this site. Frost was detected in the morning of 14 August.
