A site, consisting of several ancient deer paintings on stones, located in the vicinity of Muren, Mongolia (photographed on 25 July 2004; 49o39'18.9" N, 99o55'44.3" E; 1348 m elevation). There was a gate with a board message of "Uushigiin Uver site Prom 3500-4000 years BC" at the entrance of this site that had an approximately 12 minute-distance from the Muren Airport by car. That is, those deer paintings were made 5500-6000 years before.

(A) Partial appearance of the deer paintings, established sparsely on a grassland zone with a great number of intermingled stones and a background of hillsides. I felt this scene was extraordinary, just like a part of another planet.

(B) One of several stones with deer paintings.

(C) One of several stones with deer paintings.

I have heard of the extinction of deer in Mongolia.
