Log House in Shaamar
(A) One of log houses that were built in each of surrounding wooden walls, and (B) a unique shop that was located at a neighboring site, in a village of Shaamar, Selenge Province, Mongolia (photographed on 25 July 2005). This village was surrounded by a large number of pine trees (Pinus silvestris), resulting in an abundance of lumbers. Many kinds of vegetables were grown up within the walls. Electricity was installed. Unlike nomads, village-peoples seemed to be resident in this area. In the shop, there were various goods such as candies, chocolates, cookies, fish-cans, fruit-juices, jams, noodles (made in China), shampoos, skim-milks, soaps, tobaccos, and so forth.
