Hakuba Three Peaks

Hakuba Mountains
The Hakuba three peaks (left to right): Mt. Yari-ga-take (2903.1 m elevation), Mt. Shakushi-dake (2812.0 m elevation), and Mt. Shirouma-dake (2933.1 m elevation). I photographed these peaks on 25 April 1992 around the top of Mt. Iwatake-yama (1289.6 m elevation), Hakuba-mura, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. A horse shape (Shiro-kaki-uma), from which the name "Shirouma" is derived, is discernible under the col at the right side of Mt. Shirouma-dake.

Accompanied Collaborators: Masaichi Kakegawa, Fujio Kishi, and other members of the meeting for the observation of Hynobius kimurae.
