Compact pH-meter

A compact pH-meter (twin pH, B-212, waterproof: Horiba Ltd., Kyoto, Japan), one of my examination tools in the field (photographed on 6 November 2005). This meter just revealed a stable water-pH of 6.7 in a stream where male and female immigrants of the salamander Hynobius kimurae utilized for winter-dormancy and the succeeding breeding during spring, located in Hokujo, Hakuba-mura, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
