[Research/Personal Interests]
My research interests encompass many aspects of the evolution of the mode of fertilization from external to internal, integrative studies of synthesizing the aquatic or terrestrial ecology and the environmental physiology of amphibians (so-called "physiological ecology"), life-history strategies and population dynamics in amphibians, breeding ecology and behavioral ecology of hynobiid salamanders, and wetland ecology; hobbies including Shogi (Japanese Chess), an amateur Shogi player of the rank 4-dan-kaku, a volley ball player throughout the school and university life, a table tennis (ping-pong) player during the childhood, and man-watching (mind-reading), cat-watching, and bird-watching; accomplishments including mimicry of cat vocalizations (but I won't perform this in front of human beings)
