Natural History Museum
Natural History Museum, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (photographed on 8 January 2005).

The room for "Fishes, Amphibians, and Reptiles" of this museum involved several specimens that were preserved in 70% ethanol, e.g., Rana amurensis (Siberian wood frog), Bufo raddei (Siberian sand toad, Radde's toad), Eremias argus, Eremias vermiculata. A map indicated distributions of one species of salamanders, five species of frogs and toads, and six species (two orders) of lizards (Agama in Gobi) in Mongolia. The salamander Salamandrella keyserlingii was distributed at least in three places: western side of the Khovsgol Lake (= Darhadyn Wetland); northwestern side of Ulaanbaatar (= Shaamar, Selenge Province); and northeastern side of Ulaanbaatar.
