One of my friends, Toshiko Tanaka has been challenging her first work of Noh mask in the class of the Asahi Culture Center. She takes almost 3 years to finish it, going to class 2 times a month.
This mask is a "Dohji" which is a boy's face and is said to have a look of neutrality. It is made of Hinoki(wood) and unbelievably light.
