Appreciation of Nature

Tsukusi or A reproductive shoot of the field horsetail makes Japanese people feel spring has come on the field as well. I call this site "Tsukusi slope" myself and watch it secretly. About a week ago when I went there, no shoot was found at all, which made me a little uneasy. But look! (Pictures: April 4, 1999)

The right one shows small balls under those surface parts. I wonder if the spores are kept in here ready to sprinkle? The left shows the spores are gone.

Spring sun made them awake. On this slope the shoot babies are competing. How tall do they get every day?
At this stage, the field horsetail has come out only little yet.
