Appreciation of Nature
Part-55 : Two kinds of birds and a butterfly
(UpdateF2001. July 7)
(Picture: March, May & July 1, 2001)
Blue-and-White Flycatcher
We call it "Oh-ruri" in Japan. Takashi Kumagai took this picture near Kohudai station using 500mm lenz. Since May, Oh-ruri has been heard singing.
White's Ground Thrush
It's called "Tora-tsugumi" in Japanese. It has been taken in the town by Takashi Kumagai, too in early March. We have little chance to encounter this thrushs. I, myself happened to see one in 1997.
A Summer Butterfly called Tsumaguro-hyoumonn (fmale)
It visited my place! Liked to show herself on the net? You shoud chose somewhere else, then. Not a concrete stage.
Question: Left picture shows a flat face of the butterfly, while right one shows a big nose. Can this part change itself, I wonder?
Wings of male butterfly have orange part all over, looking like a leopard. In Japanese, the name "Tsumaguro hyoumonn" is partly named after a leopard. Female looks similar to another kind called "Kabamadara" because the latter has poison. It is said to be their way to protect themselves in Nature.
Drop me a lilne.
