Once upon a time in a small village, there lived an old man
and an old woman.
Every day the old man went to the mountain to cut some wood.
Every day the old woman went to the river to wash clothes.

One day the old woman saw a big peach in the river.
She said, "What a big peach! I want to eat the peach."
The old woman caught the peach and went home.
The old man saw the peach and said,
"What a big peach! I want to eat the peach!"
The old woman said, "Let's cut the peach."

They cut the peach in two. A boy came out of the peach.

Soon he was very tall and big.
One day he said, "I want to fight the bad demon. I'm going to Onigashima."
The old man and the old woman were sad.
The old woman gave Momotaro some food.
Momotaro said, "Good-by! See you!"

Momotaro met a dog.
The dog said, "Hi, Momotaro. Give me some food and I'll go with you."
Momotaro gave the dog some food and he traveled with the dog.
Then Momotaro met a monkey.
The monkey said, "Hi, Momotaro. Give me some food and I'll go with you."

and the monkey.
Then Momotaro met a bird.
The bird said, "Hi, Momotaro. Give me some food and I'll go with you."
Momotaro gave the bird some food and he traveled with the dog,
the monkey and the bird.

Momotaro, the dog, the monkey and the bird arrived at Onigashima.

They met a demon. The demon said, "Who are you?"
Momotaro said, "I'm Momotaro. This is the Dog. This is the Monkey.
This is the Bird. We are strong. We want to fight you!"

Momotaro, the Dog, the Monkey, and the Bird won.
The demon said, "I'm sorry. I will be good."
Momotaro went home and lived happily with the old man and the old woman.
