I'm glad to intorduce an old town, Jinaimachi, Tondabayashi, Osaka, Japan as a national historic district and heritage site.
It takes 30 minutes from Osaka city to Tondabayashi station by Kintetsu railways. A 10-minutes walk will take you to the historic town.

| August 30, 2014, Saturday Jinaimachi street lantern festival in Tondabayashi, Osaka Pref. has became an end of summer tradition. It celebrated its 11th anniversaries this year on the day. As summer sky was spread during the day, the temperature rised in excess of 30 degrees and it became extremely hot day. After I had finished taking some pictures at the former residence of Sugiyama family, an important cultural property of the country, I went to the venue of Jinaimachi street lantern festival. Banner flags standing here and there on both sides of the streets enlivened the mood of the festival. Black clouds hanged over toward evening, the atmosphere became unstable for the time being, then there was a shower around 5:30 pm. By the time of lighting each lantern on the streets when it became dark, fortunately weather was restored, the town bagan to be crowred by visitors with their friends and families. Thanks to the shower, it became a little bit easier to relieve the heat. Each lantern lined in a row on both sides of the street was lighted all at once and began to emit a light pale orange. I saw visitors who took pictures of lanterns as close to the lens and I saw many dressed in Yukata with a fan in hand here and there. Fantastic scene of pale light was emerged at the precinct leading to the main hall from the main gate of Koushouji Betsuin Temple which has been now designated as an important cultural property of the country this year. The Jinaimachi annual event had reached its climax, as you regret the summer to go. In each person's memory, a fantastic scene will be kept as a recollection of this summer. | Various events were also held in each venue of Jinaimachi town. The squares where stalls were opend, were filled with people enjoying the food and beer. The specail photographic slide presentation was held at the outdoor special venue, by showing photos of old Tondabayashi town and its neighorhood villages with narrations and many visitors stopped over to see and listen to the presentation. | |

Location
Jinaimachi town, Tondabayashi city, a national historic preservation district
and heritage site of Japan, which is located in the south-eastern part
of Osaka prefecture, the western part of Japan
Directions to Jinaimachi town, Tondabayashi
It is a 10-minute walk from the Tondabayashi Staion or the Tondabayashi
Nishiguchi Station of Kintetsu Nagano line.
From Kansai International Airport
Airport Limousine Bus service available bound for Kawachi Nagano Station.
(60 minutes) Please take Kintetsu railways from Kawachi Nagano to Tondabayashi.(15
minutes)
From Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport)
Airport Limousine Bus service available bound for Abenobashi Station. (30
minutes) Please take Kintetsu railways from Abenobashi terminal to Tondabayashi.(30 munites)
From JR Shinkasen Shin-Osaka station or

Please take Subway Midousuji line from Shin-Osaka station or Osaka (Umeda)
station to Tennoji Station. (20~30 minutes) Please change trains at Tennoji
and take Kintetsu railways from Abenobashi terminal to Tondabayashi. (30

Visitor Parking
Road width is very narrow in Jinaimachi town. If traveling by car, please
use Tondabayashi Municipal east parking newly opened in February 2014 (Toll
parking).
You can park the minibus for groups and passenger cars for general use.
Only one parking lot available for minibus, you must book it in advance
with Tondabayashi City Hall. A 15-minute walk to the Jinaimachi Visitor
Center and 5 minute walk up to the former Sugiyama family house, an important
national cultural property.
You will note that the large tourist bus for groups is requested to be
parked at the Tondabayashi City Hall No. 2 parking lot alongside the old
Route 170 (It must be booked in advance to City Hall). 20-minute walk to the Jinaimachi
Visitor Center and 10 minute walk up to the former Sugiyama family house,
an important national cultural property. Thank you in advance for your
