【Tourist guide to Jinaimachi town, Tondabayashi, a historic district and heritage site of Japan, Shops, Restaurants and Guesthouse】
Reuse and utilization of old traditional townhouses have recently become a quiet boom  nationwide as it is well-known in Kyoto. As a new movement of the past few years inJinaimachi town, Tondabayashi city, there increased more shops refurbishing old townhouses in harmony with surrounding historic townscape.

There are wide variety of shops such as those dealing with homemade bread, grocery, daily utensils, antique items as well as workshops of traditional crafts such as wooden furniture and handmade pottery. Coffee shops and casual dining restaurants are also available including Japanese traditional soba noodle and Italian cuisine restaurant. Those shops and restaurants are characterized as new and unique concept which had never existed in the Jinaimachi town. Please come and visit us to enjoy strolling the town.

We wish we could enjoy more and more retro nostalgic shops dealing with such as candy, handmade tofu, milk stand, photo studio, toy store of handmade, Japanese cinema and public bath, and used bookstore. Come to think of it, wine bar and French restaurant, too is yet. . Or would not be expected revival of sake breweries that had a lot in Meiji era (18th century)?
