It takes 30 minutes from Osaka city to Tondabayashi station by Kintetsu railways. A 10-minutes walk will take you to the historic town.

Located in front of the former residence of Sugiyama family, designated as an important cultural properties in Japan. The new building
was built in 1991 in the design style of old town house during the Meiji
period. (late 19th century). You will see an exhibition display of old
village maps and various tools used by old merchants at he first floor.
Meeting rooms available at the second floor. Addmission free. In the exhibition hall , there are displayed such as a pictorial description of noted places in Kawachi region, old illustrated map of Jinaimachi, valuable secondhand articles, an account book, the photograph, various documents which were kept in the merchant's families of the Edo era and Meiji era when those families prospered in dealing with brewing business and a cotton wholesale dealer. There are panel display materials including the Jinaimachi towns location map in the nation, introductiuon of the photograph of old merchants’ houses in the town, a woman poet, Ms. Tsuyuko Isonokami of the Meiji who was born here and a writer, Mr. Sakunosuke Oda who had stayed in Tondabayashi. |

Visitor Parking
Road width is very narrow in Jinaimachi town. If traveling by car, please
use Tondabayashi Municipal east parking newly opened in February 2014 (Toll
parking).
You can park the minibus for groups and passenger cars for general use.
Only one parking lot available for minibus, you must book it in advance
with Tondabayashi City Hall. A 15-minute walk to the Jinaimachi Visitor
Center and 5 minute walk up to the former Sugiyama family house, an important
national cultural property.
You will note that the large tourist bus for groups is requested to be
parked at the Tondabayashi City Hall No. 2 parking lot alongside the old
Route 170 (It must be booked in advance to City Hall). 20-minute walk to the Jinaimachi
Visitor Center and 10 minute walk up to the former Sugiyama family house,
