Business of the Kawachi cotton

The cotton was the representative crops in Kawachi region of the Edo era. Those cotton dealers such as the Tamori family doing business as "Kuroyama-Ya”, the Kitano family doing business as "Shindo-ya", the Sugimoto family doing business as “Kishi-ya”were said to go to the Oomi region as Oomi merchants were famous for doing business nationwide at that time. The kinds of products were predominantly much thick white cotton cloth and striped cotton cloth which they incorporated a striped pattern using dyed yarn. (I quoted the above from display panel explanation.)
