In addition, as a special plan only for this day the interior of former Japanese sake brewery of Banri-no-Haru brand was open to the public and film screenings and local vegetable market
was organized. Inside the sake brewery where the locally famous brand sake “Banri-no-Haru” had been brewed until the end of the Showa era (around 1980’s), there spreads as wide space as a volleyball court. A big tank for fermentation used for sake brewing has been left and displayed and the ladder to go up to the top of the brewing tank was leaned against the tank as used to be in those days. From the shops of the Jinaimachi town, many handicrafts products such as pottery or wooden furniture are displayed for sale on the spot. |

The typhoon No. 19 approached Okinawa Island, but, fortunately, the Jinaimachi
town in Tondabayashi was blessed with weather on that day and I saw visitors
incessantly walking around the various places. All the places to eat out in the town were fully crowded with visitors. I dropped into at the Haccho-chaya restaurant to drink amakouiji (sweet non-alcoholic drink made from rice) and eat handmade zaru-soba noodle there. Also, at the café Heizo located at Kobai-kura storehouse, where Japanese sweet sake of mirin seasoning used to be brewed, being made from Japanese apricot with red blossoms, I enjoyed the freshly roasted coffee from beans, being allured by the scent of fragrant coffee in the evening. |

Koushouji Betsuin Temple (Tondabayashi Gobo)
Koushouji Betsuin Temple is a temple of Jodo Shinshu School (Ikkoushuu School),
which became the center of the development and establishment of Jinaimachi
town in Tondabayashi . It has been popular as Mr. Gobo (Tondabayashi Gobo)
among the local residents.
During the Ouei period (1394-1412years) , the
The temple gate looks toward the east and the Jyounomon-suji street. Those buildings such as the bell tower, the drum tower, the main hall,
the reception hall and priest's quarters are set up and arranged.
The main gate has refined style and it became clear in a recent investigation
that the gate was further relocated from Koushouji temple in Kyoto, which
was originally said to be dismantled and reconstructed from one of the
gates at Fushimi castle in Kyoto.
Koushouji Betsuin Temple was designated as an important cultural property
of the country in 2014.
